Layoffs Weekly Search Check-In

Primly Team · 0 replies

If you were impacted by layoffs, the job search can feel like a second full-time job. This is your weekly check-in thread: a place to share what moved, what stalled, and what you’re doing next. No hustle culture. No forced optimism. Just real updates and practical support.

A few prompts (share as much or as little as you want): One step you took this week: application(s) sent, recruiter call, portfolio update, networking message, rest day, therapy session, anything that counts. What was hard: ghosting, rejections, confidence dips, finances, energy, focus, family pressure, interview anxiety. Any progress at all: even “I finally opened the laptop” or “I asked for help” is progress. What you need next: resume feedback, mock interview practice, referral tips, role targeting, accountability, or just a place to vent.

If you want a simple format: Wins: Setbacks: Next steps (1–3): Asks (optional):

A reminder we’ll stand by here: you don’t have to earn support by being upbeat. It’s okay if your update is “I’m exhausted.” It’s okay if your plan is “I’m pausing for a week.” Sustainable searching often looks like small, repeatable actions, plus recovery time.

If you reply, consider also adding your role/level, location or remote preference, and industries you’re targeting so members can offer more relevant ideas.

What’s one thing you want to be true by this time next week?
