Senior Engineering Strategy Program Manager, Commercial Personal Systems

Job Summary • This role is responsible for leading strategic programs within the Engineering Strategy Program Office, driving Engineering strategy and process optimization through business data and competitive intelligence. The role combines deep business acumen with data analytics capabilities to support executive decision-making on Engineering business strategies. The position manages cross-functional initiatives, translates complex technical and market data into actionable business insights, and partners with engineering, supply chain, and business teams to deliver strategic and data-driven recommendations.
Responsibilities Drive engineering strategy planning cycles, including problem framing, option analysis, and recommendation proposals for R&D leaders. Lead cross-functional programs (e.g., portfolio optimization, cost and efficiency initiatives, reorg follow-up), ensuring clear plans, owners, milestones, and risk management. Translate complex engineering and business data into clear insights, dashboards, and executive-ready materials to support decisions. Partner with BU engineering, product, finance, and operations to align priorities, resolve conflicts, and secure decisions on trade-offs. Define and track key KPIs for strategy and transformation programs (e.g., cycle time, cost savings, portfolio mix, resource allocation). Standardize and continuously improve methods, tools, and governance for strategy planning and program management within the Engineering Strategy team. Creates compelling data visualizations and executive-level presentations using Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to communicate complex analyses and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Mentor junior team members in analytics, problem-structuring, and stakeholder communication.
Education & Experience Recommended Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence. Typically has 10+ years of work experience, preferably in engineering development, strategy, business/portfolio management and implementation, project planning tools and software packages, people management, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-structuring skills; comfortable working with complex data, financial models, and engineering metrics. Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives and driving decisions at the director/VP level. Experience in PC/notebook, hardware, or related tech industry is a strong plus. Fluent in English; Mandarin Chinese strongly preferred (for cross-site and regional collaboration).
