Interviewing at Zoom? Here's what the loop actually looks like.

Zoom's engineering interview process has settled into a fairly consistent structure post-pandemic: typically a recruiter screen, a technical phone screen (45-60 min, LeetCode-style DS&A), and then a virtual onsite with 4-5 rounds covering coding, system design, and behavioral. For senior roles expect at least one dedicated system design round, often focusing on real-time communication infrastructure, distributed systems, or video pipeline scalability.

Behavioral rounds at Zoom lean heavily on their core values: care for community, deliver happiness, growth mindset. Be ready for questions about cross-functional collaboration, customer empathy, and navigating ambiguity. The interviewers tend to be warm but thorough. This isn't a grind-through-leetcode-hard shop, but medium-to-hard graph and concurrency problems have come up.

Timeline has historically been 3-4 weeks from recruiter screen to offer, though it can stretch in slower hiring cycles. Headcount has been more targeted since the 2023 layoffs, so processes feel tighter and decisions more deliberate.
