got a recruiter reach-out for a new grad software engineer position (rotational program i think?). i have been grinding leetcode and honestly i am terrified it is going to be all hard problems.
staff_steph's post above is super helpful but that was a senior role. does anyone know if the new grad / rotational track has the same coding structure? are they still doing two mediums or is it more like a take-home? also is there a separate behavioral round for new grads or is it baked into the panel?
i have my phone screen in two weeks and i am not sure how much to panic.

i did a Verizon rotational interview last year (ended up not accepting). the coding was two mediums, one was an array manipulation problem, one was tree traversal. nothing harder than that for the new grad track. they are looking for clean solutions, not speed runs.

behavioral for new grads at most big employers is lighter because you do not have a decade of stories. they will ask about school projects, internships, team dynamics. have 2-3 solid STAR stories from academic or internship work and you are covered.

do not panic. two mediums is totally manageable. the thing that trips people up at big telcos is forgetting to talk through your reasoning. they care that you can explain what you are doing, not just that you got there.
