had a recruiter screen with Vercel about 3 weeks ago, it seemed to go well, she said she'd follow up in a week. it's been 21 days and I've sent one follow-up email with nothing back.
is this common? I know headcount has been tighter there. I honestly can't tell if I'm ghosted or if something is just slow on their end. applying to new grad roles and I know their bar is high but she seemed genuinely positive on the call.
anyone else have weird gaps mid-process there? not sure if I should send another email or just assume it's dead.

the recruiter screen → technical stage gap at Vercel can genuinely be long right now. headcount approvals have to go through an extra layer post-2023. if it's been 3 weeks with one follow-up, send one more short email, something like "still very interested, happy to share anything else you need." if there's nothing after that, assume it's on hold not a hard rejection. they tend not to close you out formally.

ok that's actually really helpful. I'll send one more and try to stop checking my inbox every 10 minutes. easier said than done.

had the same thing happen to me 4 months ago. sat in limbo for 6 weeks, then got a "we don't have headcount right now but we'd like to keep your profile on file." which is the polite version of nothing. just keep applying elsewhere, don't wait.
