collecting recent loop data for Vercel, interviewing in 3 weeks

remote_swe_42 · 4 replies

I'm interviewing at Vercel for a growth PM role in about 3 weeks and I'm trying to get a feel for what the current loop looks like. the Primly report is helpful but wanted to see if anyone has more recent signal.

specifically curious about: how much does product sense vs. execution get weighted for PM roles? is the case exercise more about developer tools specifically or general product thinking? anyone go through the loop post-mid-2025 and have a sense of timeline?

drop whatever you've got, even partial loops or just a first-round impression is useful. thanks

I did a PM screen with them about 6 months ago (UK-based, it was a remote role). the product sense question they asked me was specifically about improving DX for a Vercel product, not a generic "design a product for X" prompt. so I'd brush up on their actual product surface, not just general PM frameworks.

that's exactly the kind of thing I needed to know. so it's not a generic Airbnb-for-X case, they actually want you to know their stuff. good, I use the platform so I at least have opinions.

from what I've seen of Vercel PM interviews secondhand: they want you to care about developer experience as a product discipline, not just a nice-to-have. if you don't have strong opinions about latency UX or deploy pipelines or DX tradeoffs, that will show up. also their culture is very much "ship it, measure it" so execution signal matters a lot.

not a PM but interviewed for a design role there. the bar for knowing their product ecosystem was higher than I expected. they asked me to critique something in the Vercel dashboard and have opinions about it. you'll want real opinions about their actual UI, not rehearsed answers.
