have a first round scheduled for an enterprise sales/key account manager role (modern trade, UK). trying to get a realistic sense of the current process before I go in.
specifically curious: how many rounds are they running for experienced hires right now? is the strengths-based approach the same for commercial roles as it is for brand/marketing? any recent data on timeline from first call to offer?
drop your experience below, anything from the last 6-12 months preferred. much appreciated.

key account role, food division, 4 months ago. recruiter screen, strengths interview with hiring manager, then a commercial case presentation to a panel of 3. offer came 12 days after the panel. three rounds total, pretty clean.

applied for a customer development role a couple months back. similar setup to what numbers_only described. the case presentation was the make-or-break round in my experience. they want to see how you structure a volume/distribution problem, not just whether you know the answer.

just a note: the commercial roles seemed to have slightly less of the strengths-only framing in my conversations. the hiring manager asked some pretty traditional "tell me about a time" questions alongside the strengths stuff. so I wouldn't entirely abandon STAR prep for that track.
