Applied to a PM role at Uber (mid-level, mobility org) about two weeks ago. Got a recruiter screen scheduled for next week.
I'm trying to figure out what the full timeline looks like so I can manage my other processes around it. My recruiter said 'we move fast' which is what every recruiter says.
A few specific questions: after the recruiter screen, how long until the technical/product screen? is there a take-home or is everything live? how many rounds is the final panel? is there anything specific to the mobility/rides org vs. other Uber orgs?
kind of anxious about this one. Uber is on my shortlist.

mobility org specifically i don't know, but the general PM loop at Uber when I went through it (about a year ago): recruiter screen, then ~5-7 days to a 45-min product screen, then if you pass that they schedule the full panel. no take-home in my loop. panel was 4 rounds: product sense, metrics, strategy, behavioral. all live.

really helpful, thank you. 4 rounds is less than I feared. did the metrics round feel like a trap or was it more conversational?

conversational but they won't let you off the hook. they'll give you a metric moving and ask you to diagnose it. have a structured framework and commit to it. don't waffle.

the mobility org has its own flavor. driver-side vs. rider-side PM questions differ. if you're interviewing for a driver-side role, be ready to talk about how you'd design features for a non-captive audience that has a real next-best alternative (switching to Lyft, going back to a day job). that driver tension shows up in every product question.
