how long does Target's recruiting process take for tech roles?

i applied for a product manager role on Target's digital team about two weeks ago and heard from a recruiter pretty quickly, which was nice. but now i'm trying to figure out what to expect for timeline.

the recruiter said there would be a "few rounds" but wasn't specific. i know Target has corporate headquarters in Minneapolis but the PM roles seemed to be either there or remote. does anyone know: roughly how many rounds for PM? how long between rounds typically? is there a case study or take-home at any point?

i'm also just trying to understand the culture a bit. i've heard it can feel very midwest-nice in interviews, which sounds fine, but i want to know if that means feedback is vague too. anyone work there or go through the loop recently?

went through this about 8 months ago for a senior PM role on their app team. 4 rounds total: recruiter, hiring manager, panel x2. no formal case study but they gave me a hypothetical product scenario during the panel and expected me to walk through my thinking. bring data intuition and be ready to talk about how you'd work with merchandising or inventory teams even if you're on a pure digital product.

oh that's really useful, the merchandising angle is something I hadn't thought about. so the digital PM roles aren't super siloed from the physical retail side?

no, not really. the digital and physical sides talk to each other a lot. same-day delivery, pickup, in-store app features. they actually want to know you understand the full guest journey including the store floor.

target moves at a pretty reasonable pace compared to a lot of enterprise retailers. 2 to 3 weeks end to end is realistic once you're in the loop. the recruiter is usually your best source for actual timing, don't be shy about asking for a timeline and a decision date at each stage.
