data scientist role, corporate strategy and customer insights team. recruiter says it's 4 rounds after a phone screen. trying to get a clearer picture of what actually shows up.
if you've done a T-Mobile DS or analytics loop recently can you share: how much SQL vs. case vs. modeling? did you do a take-home or was it all live? which teams and approximately when?
my recruiter is pretty responsive but the info has been a bit vague. 'you'll meet the team' is not super actionable when i'm trying to figure out what to prep.

i did a data analyst loop at T-Mobile about 4 months ago (not DS but maybe overlapping). there was a SQL round, medium complexity, joins + window functions. also a case where they gave me a slide deck with churn data and asked me to identify 3 things they should do. the case was less about the right answer and more about how you structure the thinking. walked through it out loud and they kept asking 'what else would you want to know?'

helpful, thank you. the 'what else would you want to know' framing is very familiar from other loops. i'll prep for that. did they give you the slide deck in advance or was it live in the interview?

live, shared screen, 5 minutes to review before they started asking. not long. i went in with a rough framework in my head for structuring a churn analysis and just applied it.

not a DS but did a marketing analytics loop there last year. same vibes: SQL was medium difficulty, behavioral questions kept looping back to the Un-carrier values, and the final round was pretty clearly 'do we want to spend 40 hours a week with this person.' very collegial panel, not aggressive. good luck.
