Applied to a Stryker rotational program for new grads and got a recruiter screen scheduled pretty fast, like within a week of applying. Did the call last Friday, thought it went okay, she seemed interested.
But it's been 8 days and I haven't heard anything. No rejection, no next steps. Is this normal for them? Should I follow up? I really don't want to seem pushy but I also have another process moving faster and I don't know what to do with the competing timelines.

8 days is not a red flag, especially for a rotational program where there's likely a cohort hiring decision happening. send ONE polite follow-up email to the recruiter referencing your timeline constraint. don't over-explain, just say you have a competing offer timeline and wanted to check in. that's totally normal and professional.

ok sent a follow-up today keeping it short. she responded within a few hours saying I was still in consideration and she'd have an update early next week. the advice worked, thank you.

rotational programs specifically tend to run on semester-style calendars. if they're hiring a whole cohort they might be batching candidates. just follow up once like the other person said and see what happens.
