got a recruiter reach-out and i'm trying to figure out if the process has changed at all recently. a lot of places have added take-homes or dropped system design rounds this year and i can't always tell from older posts whether the info is still current.
specifically curious: is the onsite still fully virtual? how many rounds? are they doing any async take-home components or is it all live? and is the behavioral round one-on-one or a panel?

i went through in early 2026. all virtual, no take-home. behavioral was one-on-one. four rounds total including system design. this was for a mid-level SWE role so might differ for other levels.

went through the content/brand side late 2025. very different process. portfolio review plus a short writing exercise they gave me ahead of the onsite. no live coding obviously but the exercise was pretty involved, maybe 2-3 hours of real work.

worth noting that squarespace has had some reorgs over the last couple years so team-by-team variation is real. what's true for one hiring manager may not be true for another even for the same role title.
