I have a technical phone screen with Squarespace next week for an entry-level SWE role and I'm honestly spiraling a little. I've been grinding Leetcode but I don't know what level to expect. Is it going to be straight hard problems or is there any conversational element? I'm decent at mediums but hards with a timer make me freeze up. Any recent experience would be really helpful.
my phone screen was a medium. they're not trying to trick you, they want to see you think out loud. talk through your approach before you start coding, ask clarifying questions. the process matters as much as the answer.
okay that actually helps a lot, thank you. i tend to go quiet and just code which i know is the wrong instinct
for new grad you're not expected to optimize perfectly. get to a working solution first, then narrate what you'd improve. that alone separates a lot of candidates.
