how long does Splunk recruiting take? applied 3 weeks ago, nothing

market_realist · 4 replies

applied to a new grad SWE role at Splunk 3 weeks ago through their careers portal. got an automated confirmation email and then nothing. is this normal? the job is still posted.

should I be reaching out to a recruiter on LinkedIn? I don't want to be annoying but also I'm kind of spiraling a little. graduation was in May, this is one of the roles I actually want.

3 weeks is nothing. enterprise companies like Splunk often have req approval cycles and headcount reviews that take longer than the actual interview process. the job being still posted doesn't mean anything, portals are almost never up to date. if you have a first connection who works there, now is the time to ask for a referral. that's the actual unlock.

i waited 6 weeks for a recruiter response from Splunk last year. then got the screen, then waited 2 more weeks for the loop. then 10 days for feedback. the content of the interviews was fine but the pace is glacial. just keep applying elsewhere and try not to attach.

okay that is not what I wanted to hear but good to know. I'll try not to fixate on it. appreciate the honest answer.

post-acquisition there's been some recruiter headcount reduction at Splunk. not surprising that response times are longer. a polite 2-week follow-up email is totally fine, just keep it to one touch.
