SpaceX interview timeline, how long from screen to offer: tracking my own process here

okay i'm doing the thing where i post my SpaceX timeline in real time because i couldn't find a clear answer to this when i started and spent three days refreshing my email thinking i'd been ghosted.

my timeline so far: applied online: day 0 recruiter reached out to schedule screen: day 9 recruiter phone screen: day 12 coding screen scheduled: day 16 coding screen: day 19 radio silence: day 19 through day 26 recruiter confirmed i passed coding and scheduled onsite: day 27 onsite: day 34 still waiting: day 39 (today)

so from application to onsite was about 5 weeks. i've been told decisions post-onsite typically take 1-2 weeks. so the full screen-to-offer process seems to land in the 6-8 week range if things go smoothly.

a few observations: the silence between coding screen and onsite scheduling was 8 days. do not read into it. i emailed the recruiter at day 23 and got a reply within 24 hours that i had passed. just ask if you're in that window. the onsite scheduling itself was relatively fast once confirmed, i got my date within 3 days of the confirmation email post-onsite they said they'd have an answer 'within about two weeks'. i've heard from others it can be faster

my overall read: SpaceX is not as slow as some companies i've been through, but they're not startup-pace either. the process is structured and moves at hiring committee speed. if you're competing offers, the 6-8 week realistic timeline is useful to know when coordinating.

anybody else been through this recently with a different timeline? genuinely curious if mine is typical or if i just got lucky with scheduling.

my timeline was similar. applied, 10 days to first recruiter touch, coding screen at week 3, onsite at week 6, offer at week 7.5. about 7 weeks total. the radio silence during coding screen review is real, just email them, they respond.

how long was the coding screen? one hour? two problems? trying to calibrate what to expect.

45 minutes, two problems, medium difficulty range. one was array/hashmap, one was a graph traversal variant. hackerrank format. they tell you which language to use upfront.

the '1-2 weeks post-onsite' range is real. i've seen SpaceX decisions come back in 5 days and i've seen them take 3 weeks depending on how many people are in the debrief queue. if you're under competing offer pressure tell the recruiter early, they can sometimes expedite debrief scheduling.

thank you for posting this in real time. i have my onsite coming up next week and i've been in the dark on what to expect after. knowing i need to just sit on my hands for 1-2 weeks is weirdly helpful.
