how long does Sony Pictures take to get back after a final round??

finished my final panel interview for a coordinator role (digital distribution) last week and i haven't heard anything. the recruiter said 'a few weeks' which is vague and terrifying. applied through a referral so i don't want to seem annoying by following up too soon but also i'm losing my mind a little.

does anyone know what 'a few weeks' actually means here? is 10 days too soon to send a check-in email? this is my top choice and i'm spiraling a bit.

10 days is fine. send a short note, not a whole email. 'wanted to check in on timing and let you know i remain very interested' is enough. don't write three paragraphs. studios run slow on headcount approvals sometimes, it doesn't mean anything.

'a few weeks' at a studio usually means 2-3 weeks but can slip to 4 if there's a budget sign-off chain involved. coordinator roles often need multiple levels of approval that individual contributor roles at tech companies don't. just send the note and try to actually stop checking your email for a bit.

i had a studio go silent for 5 weeks and then come back with an offer. the silence wasn't about me at all, they were just waiting on headcount approval from a level above the hiring manager. hang in there.
