i have a Snowflake phone screen for an SWE new grad role tomorrow morning and i'm kind of freaking out. the recruiter said it would be "a conversational technical screen" which could mean anything. is it actually just talking or will there be live coding? i have not been able to get a clear answer on this.
also, is it CoderPad or something else? and is there SQL involved at the screen stage or is that later in the loop? i've been grinding LeetCode but my SQL is maybe a 7/10 and i'm stressed about it.
any advice welcome, even the obvious stuff.

"conversational technical" at Snowflake for SWE usually means live coding. plan for CoderPad. SQL at the screen stage is more common for DE/analytics roles, less so for SWE. if you're new grad SWE focus on medium LC, talk out loud, and don't try to optimize prematurely. they want signal on your thinking process not perfect code in 10 minutes.

as a recruiter: "conversational technical" is code for "we will ask you technical questions but we're not timing you with a stopwatch." it usually means live coding with a more collaborative feel. the interviewers are supposed to hint if you get stuck. lean into that. asking good questions when you're stuck is actually a signal they're looking for.
