sharing my offer for a senior SWE role (their L5 equivalent), San Mateo HQ, accepted in March: base: $198k annual bonus: 15% target RSUs: $600k over 4 years, 1-year cliff signing: $50k
total first year including bonus target and first tranche of RSUs: roughly $398k. second year drops to around $348k depending on stock.
this was after one negotiation round. initial offer was $185k base, $500k RSUs, same bonus. they had some room. recruiter was responsive when i pushed back with a competing number.
leveling call was before the offer, recruiter made it clear they were targeting L5 and confirmed scope. no bait-and-switch on leveling which has been a problem elsewhere.

how much room was there on RSUs vs. base in your experience? i usually find companies have more flexibility on equity than base but not always.

i pushed on base and got $13k. tried to push RSUs more but they only moved $100k there. so yes, base had more flexibility than RSUs in this case, opposite of what i expected.

the 1-year cliff is standard but worth confirming in writing. some companies count from your start date, some from the fiscal year start. makes a material difference if you start mid-year.

$600k RSU pool at Roblox is going to live or die with the stock price. they're public but the price has moved a lot. just factor in some volatility if you're comparing against cash-heavy offers.
