i'm in the h1b 60-day window and just finished my Retool onsite yesterday. recruiter said to expect feedback 'within a week' but that's always vague and i've been burned before.
anyone have recent data on how long Retool actually takes after the final round? did they communicate proactively or did you have to nudge?
also slightly terrified about the system design round i just had. i blanked on a question about data consistency across UI components and recovered but not cleanly. do they weight all rounds equally or is one more decisive?

i got feedback 5 days after onsite. the recruiter reached out proactively the day before. one check-in email from your side after 5-6 days is totally reasonable, not pushy.

from the hiring side: blanking and recovering is not the same as blanking and going quiet. if you narrated your confusion ('i want to think about the consistency model here, bear with me'), that's actually useful signal for interviewers. they're watching how you handle uncertainty, not just whether you get to the right answer.

i did narrate actually, said something like 'i know eventual consistency is probably fine for the read path but i want to reason through the write side.' they seemed to engage with it. that's reassuring, thank you.

a week means 'we'll have a debrief scheduled but it might slip.' just follow up once at the 7 day mark. something like 'wanted to check in, happy to provide any additional context if helpful.' short is better.
