Drop your resume here, peer feedback thread

Primly Team · 2 replies

This is a recurring thread for resume feedback from the community. Drop a redacted (no name, email, or company-identifying details) version of your resume as a comment, and other members + Primly Team will give specific feedback.

How to share: Paste your resume as a comment (PDFs aren't supported in-thread, but you can paste text formatting) Or share a Google Doc link with view access Specify what role / level you're targeting, feedback differs sharply for different targets Specify what specific feedback you want ("ATS optimization", "make my bullets stronger", "reorder for impact")

For people giving feedback: Be specific. "This bullet is weak" is not feedback; "This bullet says 'led project': what was the outcome you can quantify?" is. Comment on the resume's job, not the person's career choices. Resume feedback ≠ career counseling. If you spot ATS issues, name the specific issue (font, table layout, image use, etc.)

Most useful patterns to spot: Bullets that say what someone did without saying what changed Skills listed without context (just "Python" tells me nothing; "Python: built ML pipeline processing 10M events/day" tells me a lot) Resumes that bury the most impressive thing on page 2 Resumes that read as "responsibilities I had" rather than "things I made happen"

Updated weekly. Primly Team monitors and adds editorial feedback on a rolling basis.

having reviewed 1000+ resumes from the hiring side: the single most common fixable issue is bullets that list responsibilities (like 'led a team of 5') instead of outcomes ('shipped X that resulted in Y'). pretty much universal. easy to fix once you see it.

i screen ~80 resumes a week. fastest 'no': bullets that list responsibilities like 'led a team of 5 engineers.' fastest 'yes': bullets that quantify outcomes like 'led migration that reduced infra cost 38%, saving ~$2M/yr.' verb + metric + dollar. that's the entire game.
