got a recruiter screen set up for an infra-adjacent role, probably platform eng. trying to map the current loop before I go in.
stuff I'd love to know: is the take-home still a thing or have they changed it? how long does the full process take start to finish? is system design heavily distributed systems flavored or more product-infra? and are the technical rounds mostly async or live?
I know the team is small so I'm guessing things shift a fair bit. happy to share back what I find once I'm through it.

went through their infra loop about 5 months ago. take-home was still in play, mine was a containerization/deployment scenario. system design leaned product-infra. think: how do you isolate user Repls, how do you handle noisy neighbors, that kind of thing. not pure distributed systems theory.

start to finish took me about 3.5 weeks. recruiter was responsive. the pause between take-home and next round was about a week. I didn't feel ghosted at any point which was refreshing. decision came about a week after the final round.

for platform/infra: be ready to talk about reliability tradeoffs in multi-tenant environments. they run thousands of Repls concurrently. that's a real constraint and they want to know you've thought about what breaks at scale.
