Campus recruiting timeline: am I reading this right?

infra_ines · 3 replies

Applied through my school's career portal for PwC Assurance in late August. Got an invite to a virtual info session, attended it, then... nothing for 3 weeks. Then suddenly got an interview invite for next week. Is this the normal pace? I'm also still waiting on two other Big 4 and I don't know if I should be reaching out to anyone or just waiting. The recruiter who reached out seems nice but I don't want to be annoying. Also slightly stressed because my GPA is 3.4 and I've seen some people say PwC has a 3.5 cutoff on campus. Anyone know if that's enforced consistently?

campus timelines at Big 4 are notoriously uneven across offices. some offices move in batches, others stagger. the 3-week silence then sudden invite is totally normal. don't read into it. on the GPA thing: the 3.5 guideline exists but is not uniformly enforced, especially if there's something else strong in your profile. don't preemptively explain it unless asked.

that's actually really reassuring, thank you. i was spiraling a bit. going to just prep and show up.

reach out to the recruiter a week before your interview just to confirm logistics and express enthusiasm. that's not annoying, that's professional. Big 4 campus recruiters manage hundreds of candidates and a polite check-in shows you're organized and engaged.
