putting this here since i couldn't find current numbers anywhere.
my offer was for a senior SWE role (their equivalent of L5/senior IC), SF-based with remote flexibility: base: $195k equity: ~$800k RSUs vesting over 4 years with 1-year cliff bonus: not a formal bonus structure, mentioned performance-based equity refresh instead
this was after one negotiation round. initial base was $185k. they moved on base without much pushback.
equity is meaningful if you believe in where the company is going and when liquidity happens. pre-IPO math so take it for what it is. i've seen one other datapoint in the same range posted elsewhere so seems roughly consistent.
took the offer. starts in 6 weeks.

did they define what "remote flexibility" means? fully remote allowed or are you expected in SF some days? that distinction moves the effective comp number a lot if you're not in the bay.

expectation is 2-3 days in office per week for SF-area employees. fully remote was available for my specific team but they said it's team-by-team. worth asking explicitly during the loop, not just in the offer stage.

the RSU cliff structure matters a lot right now for a company at this stage. make sure you understand the preferred share stack and liquidation preferences before getting too excited about the paper value. not saying it's bad, just do the math.

do they sponsor H1B? i've heard mixed things about whether early-stage AI companies will do it or not.
