applied to PayPal new grad SWE in early April, got a recruiter email 3 weeks later, did the phone screen, and now it's been 11 days with no update. recruiter said "a few days" after the screen.
is this normal for them? i know big companies move slow but 11 days with zero contact is making me spiral a little. i've emailed once. do i send a second follow-up or just wait? i have another offer expiring in 3 weeks and i don't know if i should disclose that or not.

11 days is not a rejection. at a company this size, debrief scheduling alone can take a week. email again, politely, reference the other offer timeline. recruiters respond faster when there's a deadline. don't be coy about the competing offer, just don't make it a threat.

i had a 16-day gap between my PayPal phone screen and hearing back about next steps. just patience. though mentioning the competing offer is definitely the move if it's real.

ok that's reassuring. did they ask you to do anything between the screen and the on-site, like an async coding test, or did they go straight to the panel?

straight to virtual on-site for me, no async test. might depend on the team or role though.

also: if you have an expiring offer, ask the competing company for a short extension first before pressuring PayPal. gives you more room and looks less desperate.
