I just finished my onsite for a new grad SWE role at Palo Alto Networks on Thursday. It went okay I think? The coding rounds felt fine but I blanked a bit on the systems design portion, I tried to pivot into what I knew but not sure it landed.
The recruiter said 'we'll be in touch within 2 weeks' but I've seen people say it took longer. Has anyone heard back faster, or is 2 weeks actually realistic? I'm sitting on a competing offer that expires in 10 days and I don't know whether to push for an update or just wait. Anxiety is at an all-time high right now.

10 days competing offer, ask the recruiter today. something like 'I have a competing offer expiring on [date], can you give me a status update.' that is a completely normal ask. they deal with it all the time. silence won't help you.

I emailed her this morning after reading this, she responded same day and said debrief is scheduled for next week. so at least I know it's still moving. thank you.

I heard back from my PANW loop in 9 days but I know someone who waited 3 weeks. totally depends on how fast the debrief panel can align. the 2-week quote is optimistic.

blanking on systems design as a new grad is not necessarily fatal there. they expect less depth at NG. behavioral and coding matter more at that level. don't spiral on it.
