Oracle Interviews: What to Expect in 2026

Primly Team · 0 replies

Oracle runs a structured interview process that varies a lot by org. Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), database, and sales engineering teams each have their own flavor, but some patterns hold across the board.

For software engineering roles, expect a phone screen with a recruiter, a technical screen (usually one coding problem plus some system design conversation), and then an onsite or virtual onsite of 4-6 rounds. Coding leans toward medium-difficulty algorithm problems, not as LeetCode-extreme as Google, but they want clean working code. System design rounds tend to focus on distributed systems concepts: scaling, consistency tradeoffs, caching. The OCI org specifically probes cloud infrastructure knowledge.

Behavioral rounds are real, not just box-checking. Oracle has a long tenured workforce and they care about ownership, collaboration under constraint, and dealing with ambiguity in large orgs. Bring specific examples. The 'tell me about a time you disagreed with a technical decision' question comes up often.

Sales and presales roles (AE, SC, CSM) follow a heavier behavioral loop with role-play scenarios and sometimes a presentation round. Comp structures include meaningful variable components for quota-carrying roles.

Timeline is typically 3-5 weeks from first contact to offer, though it can stretch longer in certain orgs.
