Applying for Oracle PM role, how different is this from other enterprise PM loops?

Got a recruiter reach-out for a PM role on Oracle Fusion Applications (HCM area). I've done PM loops at a few SaaS companies but never an enterprise software company this size.

Few things I'm nervous about: I don't have Oracle product background. Is that actually a dealbreaker? Also, enterprise PM loops seem like they'd focus a lot on customer-specific stuff like large org stakeholder management, which is... not my strength. I've been at smaller companies.

Anyone been through the Oracle PM loop recently? Is it behavioral-heavy? Do they give product cases?

no Oracle product background is fine. they know you haven't used their ERP. what they're actually testing in enterprise PM loops is whether you can translate between customer pain and product direction without needing the customer to explain basic business concepts. so your examples from smaller companies will work, you just need to frame them around stakeholder complexity, not necessarily company size.

the behavioral questions at Oracle PM tend to hit hard on 'how did you get alignment across teams that didn't have the same goals.' that's the one to prepare most.

this is really helpful, thank you. the alignment question i can work with. i have a story from a cross-functional launch that was a nightmare in exactly that way.

been through it. they do a light product case, but it's more 'walk me through how you'd approach prioritizing a backlog' than a full 45-minute case interview. if you've prepped standard PM interview stuff you're covered. the harder part is they have a lot of interviewers and not all of them have calibrated expectations for what a PM role even means.
