Interviewing at Notion? Here's what the process actually looks like.

Notion's interview process is a bit different from a typical tech loop and it's worth knowing that going in. The team is small relative to their product reach, so hiring is selective and they move deliberately. Expect 4-5 rounds: a recruiter screen, a hiring manager conversation focused on your background and why Notion specifically, then a take-home or technical screen depending on the role, followed by a virtual onsite with 2-3 panel interviews.

For engineers, the technical bar leans toward product thinking and system design alongside coding. They want to see you care about the user experience, not just the implementation. Behavioral questions center on craft, ownership, and collaboration. You will almost certainly be asked why you want to work at a tool that people use to run their personal lives, not just their jobs. Have a real answer.

For PMs and designers, expect deep portfolio reviews and a strong emphasis on taste. Notion has a famously opinionated product culture. They want people who have opinions about what good looks like and can back them up.

Timeline tends to be 3-5 weeks start to finish. Offers don't always move fast, so budget time.
