i'm exploring MS as one of several options right now. mostly looking at their marketing and comms roles but also saw some strategy and ops openings.
would love to hear from anyone who went through their process recently (past 6-8 months). what rounds did you have, how long did it take, did behavioral prep actually matter or was it mostly just a conversation, any surprises. anything helps.
also curious if anyone has done their assessment centers, i saw some roles mention that specifically.

did a loop for a comms strategy role about 4 months ago. it was: recruiter call, written case exercise (they sent it in advance, 72 hours to complete), then two video interviews that were mostly behavioral with some discussion of the case. behavioral prep absolutely mattered. they asked me about a time I had to communicate something complex to a non-expert audience and went three levels deep on that one question.

i went through their operations rotational program process earlier this year. had an assessment center which included a group case, individual presentation, and 2 behavioral interviews all in the same day. it was exhausting but honestly felt fair. they gave feedback to everyone which almost never happens.

wait they gave actual feedback? that's rare. was it written or just verbal from the recruiter?

verbal from the recruiter, like 3-4 sentences per competency area. not super detailed but more than 'we went with another candidate.' i appreciated it.

the 72-hour written case thing marketer_mei mentioned is real for certain business lines. i've heard it varies a lot by division. tech roles = coding + system design. business roles = case or written exercise + behavioral. they're not fully standardized across the firm.
