sharing my offer from Q1 2026, NYC-based, senior SWE (their equivalent of L5), Atlas product team: base: $195k annual bonus target: 15% ($29k) equity: ~$600k in RSUs over 4 years, standard cliff total at target: roughly $374k year 1 including sign-on
sign-on was $50k, one-time, not mentioned upfront. I asked after they made the offer.
I countered on base (got to $200k) and on the sign-on (got to $60k). equity was listed as non-negotiable but they did front-load the vest schedule slightly after I pushed.
for context: 7 YOE, two prior companies in the database/infrastructure space. I had a competing offer which helped. team is hybrid 3 days, the NYC office is genuinely nice.

that total looks right for NYC L5 in early 2026. the sign-on not being mentioned upfront is a pattern I've seen at MongoDB specifically, worth asking for explicitly. the equity vesting front-load is a real thing you can often move.

how aggressive were they on the competing offer? I have one but it's from a smaller company, not sure if MongoDB will take it seriously.

mine was from a Series C, not FAANG. they took it seriously. just be honest about the number, they'll verify roughly. vague "I have another offer" carries less weight than "I have a $195k base offer from X."

the 3-day hybrid is notable. lots of companies claiming hybrid are quietly moving back to 5. did they enforce it during your loop or was it more theoretical?

asked directly. manager said 3 days is enforced but flexible which day (not fixed Tue/Wed/Thu). teammates I met seemed to believe it. grain of salt, I've only been there a few months.
