I'm on an H1B with about 5 months left on my current employer and I'm seeing some US-remote postings from Mistral. I know they're France-headquartered. Does anyone know if they actually sponsor H1B for US-based hires? Or is it EU/EEA only for most roles? I don't want to invest in a full loop only to get a "we don't sponsor" at the offer stage. It's happened to me twice already this cycle and it's brutal.
from what i've seen on LinkedIn, their US headcount is pretty limited and it's mostly through their US entity which they set up a bit later. sponsorship is possible but not guaranteed. ask explicitly in the recruiter screen, don't wait. any recruiter worth talking to will give you a straight answer in round 1.
I'd also ask whether the role is actually US-remote or EU-based with flexible hours. Mistral has been inconsistent about labeling this in their JDs. Find out early.
yeah i asked in the initial email and they said the role I applied for is US-remote with a US entity. still waiting to hear back on sponsorship. fingers crossed.
