interviewing for an SWE role on the Teams mobile side in about 3 weeks. trying to get a real picture of what the loop looks like right now because everything i find online is from 2022 or earlier and the format has apparently changed.
specifically curious: are the 4 rounds still all in one day or have they split it back to 2 days? how much system design vs. coding? is the behavioral really in every round or is it more like 1-2 dedicated rounds?
if you've been through a Microsoft loop in the last 6 months please drop your data here. even partial info helps.

did a backend loop in March. 4 rounds, all one day, virtual. 2 coding + 1 system design + 1 that was mostly behavioral but had a quick coding problem at the end. behavioral was in every round but the depth varied. rounds 1 and 3 had quick 'tell me about a time' questions. round 4 was mostly behavioral.

went through a loop on the Azure DevOps team in February. same structure as above, 4 rounds in one day. they sent me a 'interview prep guide' email from the recruiter beforehand which listed out the format. worth asking your recruiter to send that if you haven't gotten it yet.

for staff/senior+ levels they sometimes add a 5th round with an as-appropriate interviewer. that's the one that can quietly tank you. doesn't show up on your prep guide. you just notice there's a 5th person on the schedule.

what about for new grads? is the loop shorter?

new grad loop is usually 3 rounds, mostly coding with some behavioral. no system design at new grad level from what i've heard. but still one day.
