went through the Meta loop in spring 2026 after a 2-year career gap, so i was tracking every date carefully. sharing the full timeline in case it helps someone plan their schedule or manage expectations.
Initial recruiter reach-out to phone screen scheduled: 8 days
Recruiter was responsive, sent a prep document, gave me a 2-week window to schedule. I took about 10 days to feel ready.
Phone screen (coding, 45 min) to onsite invite: 6 days
Passed the screen. They use HackerRank. Two medium-difficulty questions, pretty standard graph/tree stuff. Got the onsite invite the following Monday.
Onsite scheduled: took me 12 days to schedule it because of my caregiving stuff. They were flexible.
Onsite to debrief/decision: 5 business days
This was the anxious part. Recruiter told me they'd have feedback within a week. It came at exactly day 5. No ghosting, which I was worried about.
Decision call to written offer: 3 days
Offer to deadline: 7 days standard, they extended to 10 when I asked.
Total elapsed time from first recruiter ping to signed offer: roughly 7 weeks. But a lot of that was scheduling lag on my end. If you move fast and don't need to prep much, people report doing it in 4 weeks.
The one thing that surprised me: the JEDI (behavioral) and coding rounds are separate. The JEDI round is a full 45-minute session. Not just a 10-minute tack-on. Plan your prep accordingly.
Also the recruiter check-in after the onsite was really just a quick "how did it feel" call, not a debrief. Actual feedback only came after the committee reviewed. They told me that explicitly so I stopped reading tea leaves from that call.
Happy to answer questions if you're mid-process.
