Searching for work can put a real load on your mind and body. This thread is a space to share where you actually are this week, without pressure to make it sound upbeat or “productive.” Progress counts, rest counts, and so do hard weeks.
If you want a structure, try this simple check-in: What moved forward (even a little): A message sent, a resume edit, an interview scheduled, a boundary kept, a day you got out of bed. What felt heavy or got in the way: Rejections, silence, comparison spirals, financial stress, family pressure, fatigue, anxiety, depression, brain fog. What you’re doing to take care of yourself: Therapy, medication routines, walking, journaling, calling a friend, logging off at a set time, eating something, asking for help. One next step for the week: Keep it small and specific. Examples: “apply to two roles,” “follow up with one recruiter,” “update LinkedIn headline,” “take one full day off,” “schedule an appointment,” “practice one interview answer.”
A few community reminders: You don’t owe anyone details. Share at the level that feels safe. Advice is optional. If you want suggestions, say so. If you want support only, say so. It’s okay if your “next step” is rest. Sustaining yourself is part of the process.
If you’re in crisis or feel unsafe, please reach out to local emergency services or a trusted hotline in your country.
What’s one honest line about how this week went for you, and what’s one next step you’re choosing (or one way you’re choosing to pause)?
