Collecting recent McKinsey loop data, interviewing in 3 weeks

Got my first McKinsey first-round scheduled for BA/analyst level. I've been prepping cases but I want to calibrate on what the actual experience looks like right now, not what a 2019 forum post says.

Specifically curious: how many cases per interview session whether they're doing video or in-person (I was told hybrid is possible) PEI themes that have come up recently how tight the timeline is between R1 and R2

If anyone has gone through the BA/analyst loop in the last 6 months or so, would really appreciate concrete data points. Happy to share back once I'm through it.

BA/analyst loop is typically one case + PEI per interview, two interviews per round, two rounds. so roughly four cases total, four PEI conversations but each interviewer picks their own theme. my round was all in-person but i know they still offer video for some locations.

PEI themes I've seen come up in multiple reports: personal impact, entrepreneurial drive, leadership. they tell you the theme at the start of the PEI segment so you don't have to guess which story to use. pick your best example for that category and go deep.

timeline between rounds was about a week for me when i applied for a London office role, but i've heard US offices can be faster. the recruiting coordinator usually tells you. good luck, three weeks is enough time to really tighten cases if you're doing live practice.
