i applied to the Management Trainee / Brandstorm-adjacent program about 3 weeks ago and haven't heard back. submitted everything through their portal. is this normal? did anyone else do this program and have a sense of when they actually reach out?
also not sure if i should follow up or if that's weird. i genuinely can't tell with big consumer companies whether following up helps or just annoys them.
3 weeks for a big consumer company is not long at all. for grad programs especially, they batch applicants. if the deadline was recent they may not have even started reviewing yet. a single polite follow-up to the recruiter after 4-5 weeks is fine. not to the hiring manager.
i waited 6 weeks on a L'Oreal campus role before hearing anything. then things moved fast once they started. the silence up front doesn't mean much.
