LinkedIn L6 SWE comp, remote, 2026

finance_faye · 4 replies

Data point from a friend who accepted an L6 offer at LinkedIn in Q1 2026, remote (Mountain Time, no location adjustment): Base: $248k RSU: $180k/yr (4yr vest, 1yr cliff) Signing: $60k Total year 1 with signing: roughly $488k

No location adjustment applied, which was a point of negotiation. They pushed back on the RSU grant once after competing offer and got $20k/yr added.

For context this person had 11 YOE and was coming from an L5 at a different large tech co. LinkedIn leveled them up one during the loop. Recruiter said L6 bar at LinkedIn is roughly equivalent to L5 at the FAANG they were leaving, which tracks with what I've heard from others.

no location adjustment on remote L6 is interesting. I got location-adjusted down on my L5 offer last year for being in a tier-2 city. did they have a competing offer from another no-adjustment company or was the push on RSU alone?

had a competing offer from Stripe, fully remote, no adjustment. that's what moved LinkedIn to hold on the no-adjustment stance.

signing at $60k over 2 years probably? worth noting in the math that signing often comes back if you leave before 12 months. year 1 total comp is a bit misleading because of that.

the RSU refresh story at LinkedIn is pretty inconsistent from what I've heard. some people get meaningful refreshes at 2yr mark, some get almost nothing. would not count on it in your mental model going in.
