Campus recruiting timeline super confusing, can someone help

mobile_mara · 4 replies

I'm a senior applying for KPMG's Audit Associate role through campus recruiting. My school's career fair is in September and the recruiter said decisions come "before the holidays" but wouldn't be more specific.

Is that actually November or like December 22nd? I've seen some people on LinkedIn posting offers in October and others saying they waited until January. Do they do rolling offers or is there an official decision date?

Also, if I get a superday in October, how long do they usually take to get back after that? I'm also interviewing at Deloitte and don't want to make a decision before I hear back from both.

Big 4 campus timelines vary a lot by office and practice. Generally: superdays in September/October, offers in October or November for the fall cycle. "Before the holidays" almost always means before Thanksgiving in their internal comms. That said, some offices are slower. If you have a competing offer, just tell them. They can usually expedite if they want you.

okay that's really helpful. i didn't know you could just tell them about a competing offer. i assumed that would come off as pushy.

Not pushy at all. Recruiters prefer knowing to having a candidate ghost them for another offer. Just say something like "I have another offer with a decision deadline of X, I wanted to let you know in case it affects timing." Professional and useful.

i went through KPMG campus last year (different office). offer came exactly 8 business days after my superday. Deloitte took 3 weeks. if timing is tight, the Big 4 are actually pretty fast once they decide.
