Collecting recent interview data points for Jane Street SWE/quant, heading in next month

interviewing for a software engineering role at Jane Street in about 5 weeks. i've done the research, read the blog posts, found a handful of Glassdoor things that are 2-3 years old. would really appreciate current signal.

specifically: how many rounds is the loop running at right now? still doing OCaml in round 2 even for general SWE? are they doing virtual or onsite for finals? and any sense of how much probability/quant content showed up for a pure SWE role vs. a quant research role?

not looking for people to hand me answers, just trying to calibrate how much time i need to put into each area. thanks in advance.

my loop from last fall: 4 rounds total, one phone screen, two technical (one OCaml), one combined systems + trading-intuition. all virtual. finals were NOT onsite for me. OCaml was definitely in there for SWE, not optional.

friend did the loop in Q1 this year. similar structure. said the probability questions were lighter than expected for a pure SWE role, more like "can you reason about this" than "derive this closed form." the OCaml round was the main wall for her.

for quant research it's a different story, much heavier on math and market intuition. if you're SWE track i'd spend maybe 20% of your prep on the probability stuff and 80% on OCaml + systems. that was my read from people i know there.

following this thread, i'm also targeting Jane Street next cycle. the data is helpful.
