HubSpot SWE L4 offer breakdown, Remote, 2026

sharing a real number since i just declined this offer.

Role: Software Engineer (L4 equivalent, mid-senior) Location: Remote (they confirmed fully remote for this team) Base: $168,000 Bonus: 10% target, discretionary Equity: $140k RSUs over 4 years, standard 1-year cliff Signing: $15k

Total year-1 if bonus hits: roughly $201k. Year-2+ settled around $190k annualized depending on refreshes.

I had a competing offer about 20% higher from a Series C, which is why I declined. HubSpot didn't move much on base but did add to the signing. Equity refresh conversation was possible but recruiter said refreshes are annual and performance-based, not guaranteed.

Not a bad package for mid-market SaaS. Just not the right moment for me.

appreciate the real numbers. that base is lower than i expected for remote L4 in 2026 but not unreasonable for HubSpot specifically. they've historically been below top-of-market on base and made up for it with culture/stability/low on-call expectations.

the bonus being 'discretionary' is worth digging into before signing. i've seen discretionary bonuses at companies like this pay out at 50-80% of target in soft years. worth asking historically what the payout rate has been.

recruiter told me it paid out at 95-100% for the past 3 years but couldn't give me anything in writing. take that for what it is.

does HubSpot sponsor H1B transfers? the remote-friendly piece is interesting for me but immigration logistics matter a lot.

they do sponsor, my recruiter confirmed it. but i didn't go deep into the process since it wasn't relevant for me. would recommend asking directly during the recruiter screen, they apparently have an immigration support program.
