comp data: Home Depot senior software engineer, Atlanta, accepted offer early June 2026

sharing numbers since i couldn't find recent data anywhere useful.

role: senior software engineer, supply chain tech division, based in Atlanta (hybrid 3 days).

my offer: $155k base, $25k annual bonus target (paid quarterly, not annual, which is nice for cash flow), RSUs $120k vesting over 4 years, standard benefits. no sign-on offered but i didn't push hard for it.

total comp year 1 comes to roughly $195k depending on bonus payout. they told me bonus historically pays out around 80-90% of target for this team.

this is for a role that would be L5/E5 equivalent at big tech. lower than FAANG by maybe 30-40%, but Atlanta COL does a lot of work there. the team seemed stable, org wasn't in cost-cutting mode, and the supply chain scope is genuinely interesting if you care about systems at scale.

negotiated base up from $142k initial. didn't budge on RSUs. your mileage may vary.

helpful. bonus paid quarterly is genuinely underrated, a lot of companies make you wait 12-18 months to see any variable comp. what was the RSU vesting schedule, standard 1-year cliff or monthly after cliff?

contractor_kai

1-year cliff then monthly vesting after. so after month 12 you're receiving shares every month. better than most I've seen at this TC level.

PM comp is lower. i got an offer for a senior PM role there about 4 months ago, base was $138k, bonus target 20%, no RSUs at my level. different function clearly but noting for anyone comparing.

the 30-40% gap to FAANG closes even more when you factor in stock volatility risk. HD stock is boring in the best way. less exciting, more predictable.
