I finished my final round panel at Figma last week and I'm kind of in the waiting spiral right now. My recruiter said 'we aim to get back within 2 weeks' but I've seen people say it was 3+ weeks before they heard. Would really appreciate any recent data points.
Also: is it weird to follow up before the 2 week mark? I don't want to come across as anxious but I also have another offer that might expire. recruiter knows about the competing offer but I don't know how much that actually speeds things up in practice.

the competing offer absolutely speeds things up if you give them a real deadline. 'I have an offer expiring on X date, can you let me know if you need more time or can accelerate?' is a totally normal email to send. don't hint, just say it directly. recruiters respect the directness and it triggers an actual internal timeline check.

ok sending that email today. thank you for framing it that way. I kept second-guessing whether it would seem pushy.

heard back in 11 days when I went through their PM loop 2 years ago. that's probably stale data. but for what it's worth, I think 2 weeks is roughly real for most cases, 3+ is when something is actually stuck (calibration disagreement, headcount question, etc.).
