Applying to ELC's accelerated leadership program. No idea what to expect.

has anyone gone through Estée Lauder's corporate early talent or accelerated leadership programs? i have a first-round virtual interview scheduled and i genuinely don't know whether to prep for pure behavioral, a mini case, or both. the JD was vague, it just said "business rotational program."

also does ELC lean heavy on culture fit vs. functional skills at the early stage? i'm coming from a CPG background but not beauty specifically. not sure if that matters or if they'd rather see someone obsessed with the brands.

any intel appreciated. i'm about two weeks out.

for early talent rotational programs at companies like ELC, the first round is almost always behavioral with a culture overlay. they're not going to throw a case at you in round 1 unless the JD explicitly said "case interview." prep your STAR stories with a clear link to brand affinity and cross-functional influence. save the functional deep-dive for round 2.

CPG background will help more than you think. the concern isn't that you don't know beauty. it's whether you can speak to why prestige is different from mass. spend an hour reading ELC's investor materials and understanding why gross margin in prestige beauty is so much higher. drop that somewhere naturally in the conversation and it lands well.

okay this is genuinely useful, i hadn't thought about the prestige vs. mass distinction as a structured talking point. going to dig into their annual report this weekend. thank you.
