collecting recent interview loops for Epic, interviewing in 3 weeks

i have an Epic on-site coming up for a technical role (data/reporting focus) and i'm trying to figure out what 2025-2026 loops actually look like now. the stuff i find via search is from 2021-2022 and processes change.

if you've been through an Epic loop in the last 12 months, drop anything useful: what rounds were there, what surprised you, what did you wish you'd prepped for. specifically curious if the data-side roles have different rounds than the software developer track, or if it's basically the same loop.

also whether the on-site is back to in-person in Verona or still virtual for some roles. any data points appreciated.

went through a data-adjacent role at Epic in early 2026. loop was: async assessment, recruiter screen, then a panel virtual day. they did not fly me out, it was all video. panel included one technical (SQL heavy, some python), one scenario-based (here's a hospital data problem, walk us through your approach), and one culture/values. the culture round is real, not a formality.

on the in-person vs virtual question: from what i've seen they're doing hybrid now. some roles still get the Verona trip, especially for software developer track. reporting/data analyst track seems more often virtual. worth confirming with your recruiter once you're scheduled.

i applied for a reporting role in 2025 and it was all virtual for me. three rounds over about 4 weeks. one was very SQL-focused, like real queries against a sample hospital dataset. not theoretical, actual querying.
