DoorDash product manager salary and equity: what the ranges look like in 2026

Posting this because PM comp data at DoorDash is harder to find than SWE data, and what's out there is mostly old or vague.

I went through the DoorDash PM interview process earlier this year and got to offer stage. Did not accept (timing didn't work for my visa situation) but I have the numbers.

PM L4 (equivalent to PM2, mid-level): SF Base: $172k Equity: $340k over 4 years, back-weighted Bonus target: 15% Signing: $18k

Year 1 all-in around $215k. Year 3-4 better if you stay and stock cooperates.

For context, I also had offers at that time from a mid-stage startup ($155k base, more equity but illiquid) and a larger tech company in a different city. DoorDash was competitive.

Some things I noticed during the process that affect comp: they negotiate relatively fast and don't drag the exploding-offer timeline much. I had 5 business days to decide. Given I needed to sort out sponsorship logistics that was tight.

On PM levels: from what the recruiter told me, L4 is mid-level, L5 is senior (the most common hire from outside), L6 is group PM. Senior PM L5 base was quoted to me as ranging from $190k to $220k depending on background, with equity starting around $500k for L5. I don't have a direct offer at that level so treat those as recruiter-stated ranges, not an actual data point.

For non-US candidates: yes they sponsor but they were clear it applies only to L4+ roles and is case by case. Do not assume.

Senior PM at L5 with $500k equity starting point is lower than what I'd expect for a FAANG+ at that level, but DoorDash isn't quite FAANG+ so fair. The back-weighted vest really hurts early in your tenure there. Anyone negotiating an L5 PM offer should be asking hard about the refresh cadence.

The bonus at 15% target is higher than you see at a lot of places at this level. If the 80-100% of target payout pattern others have mentioned holds, that's real money. Especially at senior where base is $200k+.

Did the L4 PM role include any product sense case study type questions or was it mostly behavioral plus analytics? Asking because I'm prepping and trying to figure out where to put my time.

@growth_gabe the loop I went through had: a product sense round (design a feature for DoorDash Merchant side), an analytical round (how would you measure success of a specific initiative, they gave a scenario), two behavioral rounds, and a cross-functional round with a mock stakeholder. No case study in the MBB sense, but the analytical round had case-adjacent problem structure.
