collecting recent Databricks interview data points, have my loop in 3 weeks

got my recruiter screen scheduled for Databricks and then (fingers crossed) the full loop. i'm a PM candidate so my prep focus is different from the eng folks here, but i'd love to hear from anyone who's been through ANY role recently.

specifically curious about: how much do they quiz you on the Databricks product itself (lakehouse, Unity Catalog, etc.) vs general PM skills is the behavioral component more values-based or situational judgment how structured is the debrief process, do they get back to you fast

anyone who went through in 2025/2026, would really appreciate data points. happy to share my notes after i'm through.

went through the PM loop about 4 months ago. short version: they absolutely do expect product depth on the Databricks portfolio. i got a 'what would you improve about Unity Catalog' question and i hadn't prepped it well enough. use the product if you can get a trial, read their engineering blog, and have opinions.

for behavioral it's more situational than values-scripted. 'tell me about a time you had to push back on engineering timelines' type stuff.

debrief speed: i heard back within 5 business days after my final round. faster than i expected. the feedback was actually substantive, not just 'we went in a different direction.' they told me exactly which area i underperformed in.

this is exactly what i needed, thank you. going to block time this week just to go through the Unity Catalog docs and product changelog. the 'have opinions' advice is the kind of thing that sounds obvious and then you forget to do it.
