Cigna Software Engineer II offer, Chicago remote-eligible, sharing numbers

got an offer a few weeks ago for Software Engineer II, enterprise tech group, classified as remote-eligible (they said hybrid preferred but didn't enforce a location). sharing the numbers because i couldn't find good Cigna SWE comp data anywhere.

Base: $118,000 Annual bonus target: 10% of base (so ~$11,800 at 100% performance) Equity: none. it's Cigna. do not go in expecting RSUs. Benefits: medical/dental/vision on day 1, 401k with 5% match vesting over 3 years, 20 days PTO + federal holidays

total cash at target is around $130k. for a Midwest-based or remote-eligible role this is solid. not faang numbers but the comp is predictable and they actually pay the bonus.

negotiated the base up about $7k from the initial offer by referencing a competing offer. they moved without much friction.

no equity tracks. noted. for a $130k total cash package at that level the bonus reliability matters a lot. is the 10% target actually paid out or is it one of those "targets" that mysteriously comes in at 70% every year?

talked to a current employee before i accepted. they said last 2 years the bonus paid out at 95-100% for her team. not guaranteed obviously but not purely aspirational either.

for anyone comparing a W2 Cigna offer to a contract-to-perm or contractor offer, the benefits package here is legitimately good. medical day 1 and 5% 401k match add real value to the total comp calc. factor it in.

the fact that they moved $7k on the first counter without drama is a good sign. a lot of companies in healthcare say "band is fixed" and then somehow find room when you push. always counter.
