How much does the 'promote from within' culture affect corp hiring? Should I bring it up?

Chipotle is known for promoting from within, especially on the restaurant ops side. But I'm interviewing for a corporate role (Digital, entry-level). Does that culture translate? Like, will it look weird if I'm applying straight into corporate without any Chipotle ops experience? Or is the internal promotion thing mostly a restaurant-level thing?

Also: should I bring up long-term growth plans in the final round? I'm nervous it'll come across as presumptuous for an entry-level role. Or does Chipotle actually want to hear that you're thinking 5 years out?

the internal mobility thing is mostly restaurant-ops track. corporate hires externally all the time, especially for digital and data roles. you don't need restaurant experience to get a corporate offer. but showing genuine interest in Chipotle's growth strategy (digital ordering, loyalty, etc.) helps a lot. they want people who care about the mission, not just the paycheck.

yes, bring up the growth plans. they asked me 'where do you see yourself in 3 years at Chipotle' in my final round for a design role. they want to hear ambition, just tie it to the company's direction, not a generic 'i want to be a manager' answer.
