how long does box take to get back after the on-site??

i did my box on-site virtually last thursday. recruiter said i'd hear in "about a week" and it's been 8 days and i've heard nothing. i know 8 days is technically within "about a week" but it's also not. sent a polite follow-up yesterday and got nothing back.

this is my top choice right now and the waiting is killing me. has anyone had box take longer than a week to respond? did it usually mean bad news or are they just slow? i don't want to be annoying but i also don't know what to do with my silence.

8 days with a follow-up unanswered is on the longer end but not a red flag yet. Hiring managers get pulled into other things. One more follow-up after 3-4 more days is totally reasonable. Keep it short: "Checking in on timing, still very interested." Don't apologize for following up.

Honestly? Could be debrief scheduling. It's the most common reason candidates sit in silence. The interviewers can't find a 30-minute window that works. Nothing you can do about it.

i had box take 12 days after my on-site and then gave me an offer. i had another company at 3 days give me a rejection. the wait is not the signal you think it is. go touch grass, apply somewhere else, try to stop checking your email every 45 minutes (speaking from experience here).
