got a BCG recruiter reach-out last week (serendipitous timing given the layoff). now i'm in prep mode for a marketing/communications specialist role and i want to understand what the current process actually looks like.
if you've interviewed at BCG in the last 6 months, i'd love to hear: how many rounds, what types of questions came up, how long did it take, how was the recruiter communication. not looking for impressions, looking for data points.
dropping what i know so far: first round is typically 2 x 45-min interviews, behavioral components in each. for specialist roles the cases are apparently softer. that's the extent of my intelligence.
what do you have?

did a BCG CMO Advisory role process about 4 months ago. 3 rounds total. first round was 2 behavioral-heavy interviews, almost no case. second round added a mini case about a brand repositioning problem. third was a panel with 3 senior folks, all behavioral. total timeline was 5 weeks. recruiter communication was good, i always heard back within 2 business days.

interviewed for a digital delivery manager role at BCG X last quarter. different process than the main firm. there was a technical screen, then a business case presentation i had to prepare in advance (48 hours), then a final round with 3 interviewers. behavioral questions were standard leadership and conflict resolution stuff. no market sizing. took about 7 weeks.

applied to a strategy specialist role, got ghosted after the hiring manager screen. so my data point is: the funnel is real, even with a recruiter reach-out.
